Testing Light Reflectance Values with Interior Lighting

I'm trying to do a preliminary analysis for a project that is in the pre-design phase.  The goal is to test different LRVs for interior finishes to see how significantly it impacts interior lighting levels, which could help inform the finish selection and interior lighting design.  I would like to set up a simple box model to test this.  I'm not very familiar with the Electric Lighting analyses and I was wondering if someone could recommend a workflow (how to set up the model, which reports to run) to achieve this.  I do have access to SketchUp and Revit.

There are a few ways to do these tests!  The simplest might be to do all your modeling in LS itself using our simple modeler.  For example, you could draw a basic room (either a square or polygon) using the "Simple modeler" tool in the left-hand toolbar.  Then simply drag-and-drop IES files for your fixtures into the app and then click to place them in the room.  You can just use basic point-in-time grid illuminance simulations that will calculate the illuminance on a grid at workplane height, and report statistics like average, max, min, etc.  Then using the material panel in the left-hand toolbar you can experiment with different reflectances/colors etc to see how the results change.

If you already have a Revit model for this design, you could use our plugin to export e.g. a single space to analyze using our space selector in the export dialog, or by drawing a section box around the area of interest in a Revit 3D view.  If the model already has fixtures in it (see more about how LS identifies electric light sources on our help guides), they will be imported into LS for use automatically and you could follow similar steps outlined above.
