Applying different glazing materials on the same facade

Hello Lightstanza community!

I have a question on how to apply different materials to different glazing. I'm working on a model that has multiple windows on all orientations. I want to apply three different glazing materials, each with a different light transmittance.

Unfortunately, when I go to materials -> apply, all the windows belonging to the same facade are highlighted. This means I can only apply one material per facade orientation, which is not really helpful.

My model is a revit export. I tried creating multiple glazing families in Revit, but this didn't solve the problem.

Is there any way to break down the glazing into individual windows so I can apply the different properties correctly?

Thank you for your help.

Great question!  Windows are assigned "window groups" during the model import stage in order to combine blinds systems for ganged control.  Typically these groups will have the same glazing materials, so the default behavior when applying materials to windows is to apply them to the whole group.

However, LightStanza does support having multiple materials per group! When you first click the paint bucket icon to start applying a material, you'll notice it has a small "G" added to the icon. This indicates you are in "group" application mode.  If you click the paint bucket a second time, it will stay active/orange, but the "G" will disappear.  This allows you to apply materials to individual windows in a group.

Hope this helps!
