I am trying to upload a revit model but I keep getting an error for importing when I am under the size limit as well.

Have you tried using the REVIT plugin for LightStanza? You can access it here: https://apps.autodesk.com/RVT/en/Detail/Index?id=6642746024506117170&appLang=en&os=Win64
